President Donald Trump avoided condemning President Vladimir Putin on Friday over allegations that Russia has carried out espionage attacks on NATO countries.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump brushed aside a question about one apparent incident: the discovery of explosive-laden drones on Aug. 4 at Leipzig airport in Germany, which officials have linked to Russia.
The US President Shrugged Off any suggestion of Russian sabotage allegations against NATO Allies, for fear off upsetting the Russian premiere and forcing his hand in Iran.
There is an understanding between the US and Russia, which is purposefully designed to antagonise Europe, especially NATO allies into spending more, and the limited supplies to Ukraine. Should that change, Russia, will actively support Iran in protecting the middle east.
US envoys arrive in Moscow ahead of Ukraine talks
Two of US President Donald Trump’s top envoys have arrived in Moscow ahead of a weekend of talks aimed at accelerating efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will hold talks in the Russian capital before travelling to Kyiv on Sunday for discussions with Ukraine.
Trump told reporters on Friday that Witkoff and Kushner were “bringing with them a proposal to end the war”. So far, efforts from the US and its allies to broker a peace deal have failed to deliver a breakthrough.
Both Russia and Ukraine have said they will halt strikes on each others’ capital cities for three days while the delegation conducts its visit.
