Louane drew a very large crowd at Namur’s Solidarités festival on Saturday, with the front row packed out well in advance and young fans visibly emotional as they waited for the French singer to appear.
Her audience was notable not only for its size but also for its enthusiasm. The front rows were described as highly engaged, with some fans even shouting at the top of their voices before the concert in an effort to catch the attention of specific members of Louane’s touring team. The “place des arts” plain was filled with very young fans, a markedly different crowd from the one that had gathered the previous evening for Faithless.
At 6.15pm, Louane began her show from the audience itself, in the middle of the crowd. She was anything but “Solo”, the title of her opening song.
From the second track, Louane raised the energy further by launching into “Avenir”, a song on which the audience immediately responded by singing along. The same happened on the following number, “La Pluie”, and more broadly throughout the concert, with the lyrics recited by heart in a striking karaoke-like atmosphere.
Across the performance, Louane made excellent use of the stage, running from one side to the other and also appearing behind the keyboards. It was a rich and varied set.
Louane is also preparing to return with a new album, and she used this date, one of the very last of her summer tour, to present a number of new songs to the Namur audience. For the show, she even brought a guest for one track from the upcoming album, a song especially close to her heart called “tout pour toi”, performed as a duet with Elisa Palmire, one of her best friends.
In Belgium, Louane also naturally performed “Donne-moi ton cœur”, the track released in 2020 and produced with Damso.
In short, the French star delivered a complete show, balanced between new material and the biggest hits from her catalogue.
