La Louvière Still Winless After 4-0 Defeat at Sint-Truiden
RAAL La Louvière remain without a win in the Pro League after being beaten 4-0 by Sint-Truiden on Saturday.
After a sluggish start, the hosts took control in the closing stages of the first half. Robert-Jan Vanwesemael first failed to beat Marcos Peano in the 35th minute, before Ryan Merlen fired past the Argentinian goalkeeper in the 41st minute to make it 1-0. La Louvière then created two chances in quick succession from set pieces, but the Wolves lacked precision in the 44th minute.
Well supplied by Merlen, Vanwesemael doubled the Canaries’ lead early in the second half with a smart finish in the 54th minute to make it 2-0. The Bosnian Samed Bazdar, left unmarked at the far post, put Sint-Truiden firmly out of reach in the 73rd minute before adding a fourth goal himself in the 78th minute.
Only Courtrai and Oud-Heverlee Leuven are still without points this season. Courtrai host Zulte Waregem on Sunday, while Leuven travel to Beveren.
