Breaking News: Seattle Weather Updates and Sports Coverage

Get ready for some electrifying weather in the Pacific Northwest as thunderstorms are set to roll in within the next 24 hours, breaking the stagnant summer heat that has been gripping the region.

While the first two ways to break the heat – a summer frontal system and a marine push – are not in sight, the arrival of thunderstorms promises to bring some relief. The thunderstorms, which have already been brewing in Eastern Oregon, will make their way into the PNW, bringing with them a mix of lightning and gusty winds.

The impending thunderstorms come at a time when temperatures have been soaring across the region, with some areas reaching the 90s and even the century mark in Eastern Washington. The heat has also led to a dip in air quality in certain areas, adding to the concerns of fire danger.

As the thunderstorms move through, they are expected to bring a slight drop in temperatures, with highs in the middle 80s on Wednesday and lower 80s on Thursday. However, the warm July stretch is set to continue, with temperatures climbing back into the middle to upper 80s by the weekend.

So, buckle up and prepare for some stormy weather ahead. And remember, if thunder roars, head indoors to stay safe. Stay tuned for updates from meteorologist Shannon O’Donnell and the KOMO4 Forecast Team as the weather unfolds.
