This prestigious recognition, earning a “High Performing” rating, marks the fifth consecutive year that the facility has received this honor.
With an overall rating of five out of five, the 120-bed facility has been a lifeline for the Palm Beach County community, providing vital skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to some of the county’s most vulnerable residents. The average age of residents at the Healey Center is 66, with nearly 60% being 70 and under. Many residents have experienced traumatic injuries, strokes, debilitating illnesses, dementia, and complex medical conditions.
The annual Best Nursing Homes ratings, now in its 14th year, assist prospective residents and their families in making informed decisions about where to receive short-term or long-term nursing home care. Only 19% of U.S. skilled nursing facilities earned the “Best Nursing Home” designation for 2023-2024.
The U.S. News ratings take into account various factors such as infection rates, staffing levels, use of antipsychotic drugs, health inspection results, and other quality indicators. The Healey Center’s recognition is a testament to the dedicated team that ensures every resident receives the best possible care.
In addition to the Best Nursing Home recognition, the Healey Center also earned a deficiency-free annual survey from Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration and the Bronze National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living in 2023.
The Health Care District of Palm Beach County, which oversees the Healey Center, has been a healthcare safety net for 36 years, providing essential services to the community. The district covers the entire county and offers a range of services including community health centers, school health clinicians, trauma helicopters, a public teaching hospital, a ground ambulance program, and more.
