UA Little Rock’s Graduate Programs Recognized by U.S. News and World Report

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has once again been recognized for its outstanding graduate programs in public affairs and social work by U.S. News and World Report. The prestigious rankings, which place UA Little Rock at 99th in public affairs and 120th in social work, highlight the university’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.

Dr. Derek Slagle, director of the UA Little Rock School of Public Affairs, attributes the program’s success to a variety of factors, including increased publications and conference presentations by students and faculty, enhanced departmental service, and recognition for excellence in teaching. He expressed pride in the faculty and staff for their dedication to academic scholarship and applied research impact.

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at UA Little Rock equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge for management and policy positions in government and the nonprofit sector. Dr. Sarah Beth Estes, dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education, commended the program for preparing students for success in a variety of administrative professions.

The Master of Social Work program at UA Little Rock focuses on clinical social work practice and offers two concentrations: clinical and macro-oriented. Dr. Kim Jones, interim co-director of the School of Social Work, highlighted the program’s well-qualified faculty and fully accredited programs as key factors in its success.

Overall, the recognition from U.S. News and World Report serves as a testament to the dedication and excellence of the faculty, staff, and students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
