HSNC University in Mumbai hosts the 11th Biennial Symposium on “Emerging Trends in Separation Science and Technology” (SESTEC-2024)

The 11th DAE-BRNS Biennial Symposium on “Emerging Trends in Separation Science and Technology” (SESTEC-2024) kicked off with a bang at the Worli campus of HSNC University, Mumbai on 10th July 2024. The prestigious four-day event saw the presence of distinguished personalities including Prof. M.M. Sharma, Padma Vibhushan, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Dr. Hemlata K. Bagla, Dr. PK Mohapatra, Prof. UK Mudali, and other eminent figures in the field.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Bagla emphasized the importance of exploring applications for water, energy, food, and climate in the realm of separation science. She raised thought-provoking questions about the legacy we are leaving for future generations in terms of pollution and sustainability.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. M.M. Sharma, who highlighted the significance of separation science in various sectors such as pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, environmental protection, and more. The symposium, hosting over 300 participants, features a diverse program including poster presentations, plenary sessions, invited talks, and oral presentations. With a focus on cutting-edge research and development in separation science, SESTEC-2024 promises to be a platform for sharing valuable insights and breakthroughs in the field.
