The 2023-24 school year was a thrilling one for high school sports teams in Fall River, with several standout performances and historic achievements. Two Greater Fall River teams stood out with state championships – Westport boys soccer claimed their first-ever state title, while the Case girls softball team secured back-to-back state titles for the first time since the 1995-96 season.
The excitement didn’t stop there, as the Somerset Berkley boys basketball team nearly pulled off a major upset against No. 1 seed Malden Catholic in the Division 2 state semifinals. The Raiders football team also had a successful season, finishing with a share of the South Coast Conference Blue Division title. Additionally, SBR’s hockey team made school history in the winter season.
