Jamestown Regional Medical Center Named Best Hospital for Obstetrics

JAMESTOWN — Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) has been recognized as the Best Hospital for Obstetrics by the Women’s Choice Award, a prestigious national award for healthcare. Out of 3,724 U.S. hospitals offering obstetrical services, JRMC ranked in the top 9%.

The award was earned based on a variety of criteria, including clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and accreditations. The birthing center at JRMC has a long-standing reputation for providing exceptional care, with high marks from patients on surveys evaluating their experience.

Dr. Emily Stromquist, an OB/GYN at JRMC, expressed her gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We’ve always believed that our JRMC Family BirthPlace is the best place to have a baby. This honor, along with our outstanding patient satisfaction scores, is a big thank you from the community.”

JRMC offers a comprehensive range of obstetric and gynecologic services, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum support, and specialized gynecologic surgery. The medical center is one of the few rural facilities still providing labor and delivery services, and the Jamestown community benefits from a wide range of provider choices.

Dr. Gregg McAdoo and Dr. Stromquist, both board-certified OB/GYNs, joined JRMC in 2022, further enhancing the quality of obstetrical services available to patients.

Mike Delfs, President and CEO of JRMC, praised the dedication of the hospital’s staff, stating, “This prestigious award is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our team at JRMC. It acknowledges our relentless pursuit of excellence in women’s health care.”

In addition to the Women’s Choice Award, JRMC Family BirthPlace is recognized as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Center of Distinction and is designated a Safe Sleep Hospital by Cribs for Kids. The medical center welcomes an average of 350 babies every year, with over 70% of women in the region choosing JRMC for their labor and delivery experience.
