Kerry Katona shares concerning health news following recent surgery and discusses challenges with recovery

Kerry Katona, 43, recently underwent surgery on her nose and shared a worrying health update with fans. Doctors found that she has calcified bones, a condition caused by the accumulation of calcium salts in body tissue. Kerry revealed that her surgeon was surprised by the advanced stage of the calcified bones, which initially made her fear the worst. However, she clarified that it is not a serious condition like cancer, but she will need pain medication for it. Kerry also opened up about her history of cocaine abuse, which led to extensive damage to her septum. She shared before and after pictures of her nose transformation and discussed her struggles with addiction on Good Morning Britain, revealing that cocaine became her crutch during her second marriage. Kerry has a long history of cosmetic surgeries, including breast enhancements, liposuction, facial tweaks, vampire facials, fillers, fat-dissolving injections, CoolSculpting, and a non-invasive facelift. In early 2024, she underwent a more invasive eye lift and brow lift, costing over £3,000.

Kerry, 43, revealed extensive damage to her septum following years of cocaine abuse.

But as the star continues to heal from her surgery, she’s revealed doctors found she has calcified bones.

The condition is due to the accumulation of calcium salts in a body tissue.

She explained in her OK! column: “During my post-op, my surgeon, Dr Raghavan, said they struggled to get the cartilage during the operation because he’d never seen anyone at my age with such an advanced stage of calcified bones.

“When he said the words “advanced stage” I s**t myself and the blood drained from my face, because that’s usually what you hear when it’s something serious like cancer, so I got worried, but it wasn’t.

“It’s just something I get pain medication for.”

Kerry previously exclusively shared with us before and after pictures of her nose transformation.

Earlier this month she discussed her nose surgery on GMB, saying: “It started with my second marriage, you lie down with dogs you get fleas.”

She went on: “Cocaine was my friend it was my crutch.

“I wasn’t taking it every day I was a binger. When I started I couldn’t stop, I could go a while without it.

“It became my best friend because everyone was using me.”

Kerry added: “Before I was famous, the first drug I took was with my mum. My mum wasn’t really a mum. She gave me speed telling me it was sherbet.”

Kerry Katona’s cosmetic surgery timeline

Here we look at the star’s changing face – from fresh-faced pop singer to the latest £3,000 tweakment.

Kerry first went under the knife in 2004 for a boob job, and again in 2008 for another breast enhancement and liposuction.

In 2010 she also revealed she had tried to turn back time with some facial tweaks.

Kerry was bitten by the vampire facial bug in 2013, and feared she would die after a shocking reaction to the procedure, popularised by Kim Kardashian.

In 2019 Kerry sparked outrage by endorsing a ‘Katona Package’ at a London clinic offering “2ml face filler and one area fat dissolving” for £699.

When the mum-of-five approached her 40th, she celebrated with fillers and fat-dissolving injections in her chin to “enhance my natural beauty”.

Two years later Kerry joked she’d got a “brand new face” after a procedure called CoolSculpting, which freezes fat cells under the skin and destroys them. She had some fat removed from her chin and Botox injections.

In 2023, the TV star revealed a tighter jawline after treating herself to a “non-invasive facelift”.

In early 20224, Kerry had much more invasive eye lift and brow lift in January, at a cost of over £3,000.
