Top Colleges in Kansas Ranked by U.S. News & World Report

Two Kansas colleges have been recognized among the Top 100 Public Schools nationally by the U.S. News & World Report. The rankings were based on various factors including class sizes, graduation rates, and more.

The University of Kansas (KU) took the top spot in the state, ranking 151st nationally. Located in Lawrence, KU boasts an acceptance rate of 88% and is ranked 80th in the Top Public Schools category. With an average student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1 and nearly half of its classes having 20 or fewer students, KU provides a personalized learning experience for its students.

Following closely behind is Kansas State University (KSU), ranked second in the state and 170th nationally. Located in Manhattan, KSU has an acceptance rate of 95% and is ranked 91st in the Top Public Schools category. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 18:1 and nearly half of its classes having 20 or fewer students, KSU offers a supportive academic environment for its students.

Wichita State University (WSU) secured the third spot in the state and 332nd nationally. With an acceptance rate of 68%, WSU is ranked 176th in the Top Public Schools category. While about one-third of students graduate in four years, WSU provides a diverse and inclusive campus environment for its students.

Rounding out the top four is Baker University, located in Baldwin City, which ranked 345th nationally. With a high acceptance rate of 92%, Baker University offers a more intimate learning experience with a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1 and the majority of classes having 20 or fewer students.

While these four colleges have been recognized for their excellence, other Kansas colleges such as Washburn University, Emporia State University, and Fort Hays State University were not included in the U.S. News list. Despite this, Kansas continues to offer a variety of educational opportunities for students seeking a quality higher education experience.
