Xujing Town in Qingpu District is making strides in sustainable procurement with the support of the United Nations and international organizations. A recent seminar on the empowerment of science and technology for sustainable development of humanitarianism highlighted the town’s commitment to creating a platform for Chinese businesses to participate in the international public procurement market.
The “Knowledge Sharing, Capacity Building and Supporting Service Program on Sustainable Procurement of UN/International Organizations” has been launched in Xujing, aiming to improve the mobilization capability of procuring entities in the town. Chen Yu, deputy Party secretary and governor of Xujing, emphasized the importance of creating a better environment for international public procurement and sustainable development of humanitarian causes.
Deng Yan, head of the foreign aid material supply station of Red Cross Society of China, stressed the role of scientific and technological innovation in advancing the humanitarian cause amidst frequent international crises. Chinese companies like COSCO Shipping Lines Co Ltd and LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd showcased their innovative products and solutions in various sectors, demonstrating their competitiveness in international public procurement.
