Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan demands apology from army chief for his ‘unlawful’ abduction | Global News

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has made a bold statement from his jail cell, calling out Army chief General Asim Munir for his “illegal” abduction and involvement in the ‘London Plan’. Khan, who has been in jail since August last year in various cases, has vowed not to cut a deal with the powerful military.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Khan demanded an apology from Gen Munir for his abduction from the High Court, which he believes was part of a plan to topple his government and install a hybrid system led by the Sharif family. Khan also criticized the Army for interfering in politics and tarnishing its image.

The former Prime Minister accused Gen Munir of holding all decision-making power in the country, leading to his imprisonment. He expressed concern over the Army’s involvement in political matters and warned of the consequences of imposing non-democratic governments across Pakistan.

Khan highlighted the economic challenges faced by the country, pointing out the high levels of debt and corruption. He emphasized the need for a democratically elected government that is accountable to the people and called for an end to the imposed systems that benefit a select few.

Despite his imprisonment and the challenges he faces, Khan remains steadfast in his commitment to Pakistan and has vowed not to make any deals with the military. He believes that the country can only progress through democratic means and the rule of law.

As the political landscape in Pakistan continues to evolve, Imran Khan’s bold statements from behind bars serve as a reminder of the ongoing power struggles and challenges facing the nation.
