Cameron Moore, known by his stage name 4batz, has made a major move in his music career by signing a deal with Drake’s label OVO Sound for one EP. The deal, described as a short-term license, has been confirmed by two executives familiar with the agreement.
Since the release of his track “act ii: date @ 8,” which gained popularity during Christmas week, multiple labels have been vying for the opportunity to work with 4batz. The track debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 77 in January and climbed to No. 59, showcasing the artist’s rising success.
In a recent interview with Billboard, 4batz shared that his music is focused on positivity and love, particularly for his female audience. He expressed his commitment to creating authentic and meaningful music in a genre that he believes has become saturated with “fake toxicity.”
To further elevate his music career, 4batz released a remix of his single featuring Drake on March 8. While details of the deal remain undisclosed, 4batz’s lawyer, Matt Buser, emphasized the strategic decision to collaborate with an iconic artist like Drake and the positive support received from Team Drake/OVO.
Drake, along with his longtime producer Noah “40” Shebib and manager Oliver El-Khatib, founded OVO Sound. The label recently announced a partnership with Todd Moscowitz’s Santa Anna Label Group under the Sony Music umbrella, marking a new chapter for the company.
With 35 million streams across his catalog as an independent artist in just the last four weeks, 4batz is poised for success with his upcoming EP. The artist expressed his excitement for the project, stating that he believes it will “break the internet.”
Overall, 4batz’s collaboration with OVO Sound and Drake signifies a significant milestone in his music career, setting the stage for even greater achievements in the future.
