Hainault Sword Attack: Daniel Anjorin Fund Reaches £100k as Police Provide Update on Injured Officers

Marcus Monzo, 36, of Newham, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of 14-year-old schoolboy Daniel Anjorin in Hainault. The tragic incident occurred when Daniel was attacked with a samurai sword on his way to school in suburban east London.

The community has rallied together in support of Daniel’s family, with over £100,000 raised in less than two days through a GoFundMe page set up by a close friend of the schoolboy’s brother. The page pays tribute to Daniel as a beloved member of the local community, known for his happiness and joy.

In addition to the outpouring of support for the family, there have been updates on the two police officers injured in the attack. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that the male officer has been discharged, while the female officer continues to recover in the hospital.

The incident has left the community in shock, with neighbors expressing their grief and disbelief over the tragic event. Witnesses have come forward to share their accounts of the attack, with one neighbor revealing that they had tried to warn Daniel before he was attacked, but he could not hear them as he had headphones in.

As the investigation into Daniel’s murder continues, Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith has called for witnesses to come forward with any information that may assist in delivering justice for Daniel, his family, and the wider community. The police are working diligently to piece together the events of that fateful day and provide answers to those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
