UC College of Nursing achieves top ranking in U.S. News & World Report’s rankings

The UC College of Nursing’s programs have once again been recognized for their excellence in the 2024 Best Graduate Nursing Programs rankings by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings, which evaluate programs from public, private, and for-profit institutions, take into account factors such as graduation rates, academic and career support services, and admissions selectivity.

The College’s rankings include the No. 11 Best Nurse Anesthesia Program, climbing an impressive 11 positions from the previous ranking and placing in the top 9% of accredited programs in the country. Additionally, the Nurse Midwifery Program was ranked No. 37, the Master of Science in Nursing program was ranked No. 41, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program was ranked No. 49, climbing 13 positions from last year.

Interim Dean Gordon Gillespie, PhD, expressed pride in the college’s consistent delivery of quality nursing education to a growing number of students nationwide. He highlighted the institution’s history of providing innovative and affordable education for both on-campus and online students, which is reflected in their continued high placement in various rankings.

The UC College of Nursing holds the distinction of being the first in the U.S. to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is renowned for its academic standards, diversity and inclusion efforts, technology application, and research activity. With over 20,000 living alumni, the college’s tradition of leadership and core values are evident as graduates work to improve the health of individuals and communities globally.

These recent recognitions underscore the college’s dedication to preparing advanced-practice nurses who are equipped to make a positive impact on their patients’ health and well-being. By focusing on designing, providing, and assessing quality and safe care for all, the UC College of Nursing continues to uphold its commitment to excellence in nursing education.
