Exciting Job Opportunities Available at the UP State Fair

ESCANABA — The U.P. State Fair is a beloved tradition for many families in the Upper Peninsula, offering a week of fun and entertainment for all ages. While most fairgoers experience the fair from the other side of the gate, there is a unique opportunity to get involved behind the scenes as part of the fair’s staff.

The fair is currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to fill temporary positions during the event. From pre-fair setup to gate staff, shuttle drivers, and bartenders, there are various roles available for those looking to be a part of one of the largest events in the U.P.

One of the key positions available is gate staff, where employees will sell tickets, reconcile sales, and assist with crowd control to ensure a smooth flow of foot traffic. This role is perfect for those who enjoy interacting with people and providing exceptional customer service.

In addition to paid positions, businesses and organizations are encouraged to inquire about in-kind sponsorship opportunities to provide staff or volunteers for gate positions during specific time periods.

Other positions, such as shuttle drivers and bartenders, offer unique opportunities to showcase customer service skills and work in a fast-paced environment. All positions come with complimentary admission to the fair during off-duty hours and potential for future employment opportunities with the U.P. State Fair.

To apply for a position, interested individuals can complete an online application on the fair’s website or send a resume and cover letter to Sheila Krueger, associate director of the Delta County Chamber of Commerce. Positions are limited, so interested candidates are encouraged to apply soon.

Don’t miss out on this chance to be a part of the excitement at the U.P. State Fair, where fun meets work. Join the team and experience the fair in a whole new way!
