WKU’s graduate programs ranked among the best by U.S. News

Nine Western Kentucky University graduate programs have received national recognition in U.S. News and World Report’s 2024 Best Graduate Schools rankings. The programs span across various disciplines and are a testament to WKU’s commitment to excellence in graduate education.

Among the programs ranked are the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), which climbed to No. 100 from No. 113 last year, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), which rose to No. 101 from No. 106. The Speech-Language Pathology Program also saw a significant improvement, moving up to No. 136 from No. 189.

In addition to these programs, WKU’s graduate programs in education and the online Master of Business Administration program were also recognized by U.S. News. The rankings include programs from the College of Health and Human Services, Potter College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, and the Gordon Ford College of Business.

Dr. Jenni Redifer, Interim Associate Provost for Research & Graduate Education, expressed gratitude to the WKU community for their dedication to providing students with valuable real-world experiences during their graduate studies. The rankings reflect the positive impact of WKU’s graduate programs both within the Commonwealth and beyond.

Dean Tania Basta of the College of Health and Human Services highlighted the recognition of six graduate programs within the college, emphasizing the faculty and staff’s commitment to preparing students for the evolving health and human services workforce.

The rankings showcase the excellence of programs such as the Nursing Master of Science (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Speech-Language Pathology, and more. These programs equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their respective fields and make a difference in their communities.
