Trump softens stance on Nato threats, conditions European members paying ‘fair share’: Latest developments

In a recent interview with Nigel Farage on GB News, former President Donald Trump waded into the royal photo row involving Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, claiming that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “broke Queen Elizabeth’s heart.” Trump expressed his sympathy for the Queen, stating that the things said by Harry and Meghan were “so bad and so horrible” for someone in their nineties to hear.

The interview, set to air in full on Tuesday, also saw Trump describe the late Queen as “incredible” and express his admiration for the concept of a royal family. This latest comment from the former president adds fuel to the ongoing controversy surrounding the royal family and their public statements.

Meanwhile, Trump’s legal troubles continue to mount, with his former trade adviser Peter Navarro surrendering to authorities to begin a four-month jail sentence. Additionally, Trump’s attorneys in New York have stated that they have been unable to find a backer to cover his $464 million bond following a civil fraud judgment against him, potentially leading to the seizure of his assets by the New York attorney general.

In a separate development, a new poll suggests that a criminal conviction for Trump could seriously damage his hopes for a second presidential term. The Politico/Ipsos poll found that more than a third of independents surveyed said a criminal conviction would make them less likely to support Trump in a potential rematch against Joe Biden in November.

As Trump continues to make headlines with his controversial statements and legal battles, the public remains divided on his future prospects in both politics and the royal family saga. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
