More than 1,000 former, incoming, or current NCAA student-athletes are gearing up for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris this summer. Representing over 100 countries, with nearly 400 competing for Team USA, these athletes are set to showcase their skills on the world stage.
Throughout the Olympics, which will take place from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, Aug. 11, all student-athlete medal winners will be closely followed. Each individual medal winner will be highlighted, rather than just the team in team events. Fans can also track the performance of these athletes at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
As of 9:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday, July 30, several NCAA student-athletes have already secured medals. Among the gold medalists are Vivian Kong from Stanford in Fencing Women’s Individual Epee, Jack Alexy from California in Swimming Men’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay, and Lee Kiefer from Notre Dame in Fencing Women’s Individual Foil.
In the silver medal category, athletes like Kate Douglass and Gretchen Walsh from Virginia in Swimming Women’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay, and Kassidy Cook from Stanford in Diving Women’s 3m Springboard Synchro have excelled.
Bronze medal winners include Eszter Muhari from Notre Dame in Fencing Women’s Individual Epee, Katie Ledecky from Stanford in Swimming Women’s 400m Freestyle, and Carson Foster from Texas in Swimming Men’s 400m Individual Medley.
