The US women’s 4x400m squad will be looking to reclaim their dominance at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24, as they return to Nassau where they have previously found success.
In the first three editions of the competition held in the Bahamian capital, the USA women’s 4x400m team emerged victorious. However, since the event moved out of the Caribbean, other nations have taken the title.
In 2021, with USA and Jamaica opting not to send a team, Cuba surprised everyone by clinching the victory, edging out Poland and Great Britain & Northern Ireland. Normal order was restored with USA winning Olympic gold later that year and world gold in 2022.
The Netherlands, the current reigning world champions indoors and out, will be a strong contender in Nassau. Led by Femke Bol and Lieke Klaver, the Dutch squad has been in top form, while Alexis Holmes anchors the USA team, a standout performer.
Jamaica, a consistent podium finisher in the event, and Great Britain & Northern Ireland, with three global bronze medals in the past two years, will also be looking to challenge for the title.
Poland, featuring world 400m silver medallist Natalia Kaczmarek and European champion Justyna Swiety-Ersetic, will be a team to watch, along with Canada, Belgium, Nigeria, France, and India.
With a mix of seasoned champions and rising stars, the competition at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24 is set to be fierce and exciting. Stay tuned for all the action as these top teams battle it out on the track in Nassau.
