The Polsky Center at the University of Chicago is gearing up for an exciting summer with the addition of five new faces to their team. These individuals will be taking on roles in two new fellowship programs, the Polsky Innovation Fellowship and the Polsky Science & Technology Fellowship.
The Innovation Fellowship will feature three 4+1 students with technical backgrounds who will be supporting analytical and marketing work for the entrepreneurial ecosystem. One of the new associates, Isis Decrem, shared her background as a CS major from Palo Alto who has experience working at startups and coding her own apps. She expressed her excitement for learning more about the business aspect of the tech world and investing, as well as discovering new technologies emerging from the UChicago ecosystem.
Another member of the Innovation Fellowship, Alex Mosher, is a rising 4th year data science student with professional experience in various industries. He is looking forward to applying his technical skills to real-world applications during his time at Polsky.
Matthew Chang, an economics and computer science double major, is also part of the Innovation Fellowship. With previous roles in project management and strategy in startups and VC, he is eager to work closely with startups and contribute to impactful work at the Polsky Center.
On the other hand, the Science & Technology Fellowship will consist of two PhD students in the sciences. Montserrat Kwan, a PhD candidate in immunology, is focused on how microbes in our bodies influence the immune response to organ transplantation. She is excited about collaborating with the Polsky Science and Technology team and applying her scientific expertise to evaluate new invention disclosures.
Dean Zhou, another PhD candidate in immunology, is looking forward to using his interdisciplinary background to excel in his role at Polsky. He is passionate about facilitating novel therapeutic development and improving clinical outcomes.
