PM Modi embarks on an ‘elephant safari’ through Kaziranga National Park: Morning Update on Latest News from India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his inaugural visit to Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve over the weekend, where he took part in an adventurous elephant and jeep safari. Accompanied by park director Sonali Ghosh and senior forest officials, PM Modi explored the iconic park known for its one-horned rhinoceros and diverse wildlife.

The elephant safari took place in the Mihimukh area of the Central Kohora Range, offering the Prime Minister a unique and up-close experience with nature. Following the elephant ride, PM Modi went on a thrilling jeep safari within the same range, further immersing himself in the beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This exciting venture into Kaziranga National Park was part of Prime Minister Modi’s two-day visit to the state, which began on Friday evening. The visit not only highlighted the natural wonders of Assam but also underscored the government’s commitment to conservation and environmental protection.

In addition to his exploration of Kaziranga, PM Modi made significant strides on the economic front during his visit, with India and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) nations set to sign a free trade agreement (FTA). This FTA, marking the third major trade deal under the Narendra Modi government in 2022, aims to enhance trade relations and promote economic growth between India and EFTA countries.

The signing ceremony in New Delhi will cover various aspects of trade, including goods, services, intellectual property rights, and investment promotion. The agreement is expected to address India’s trade deficit with EFTA nations and boost exports in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and iron and steel.

With these developments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam not only showcased the natural beauty of Kaziranga National Park but also underscored India’s commitment to economic growth and international trade partnerships.
