The Washington Mystics and Audacy have joined forces to bring live Mystics games to The Team 980 starting tonight. Fans can now tune in to the radio broadcast on The Team 980 (WTEM-AM) to catch all the action from the Mystics’ games throughout the 2024 WNBA season.
The broadcasts will feature a simulcast live audio feed from Monumental Sports Network’s television broadcast, including the halftime report, allowing fans to stay connected to the game wherever they are. With all 25 of the Mystics’ remaining regular season games available on the network this season, fans won’t miss a single moment of the action.
“We are delighted to broaden our relationship with Audacy and continue to drive the fast-paced growth of women’s basketball in the DMV region,” said Zach Leonsis, President of Media & New Enterprises at Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE).
The broadcast booth will feature University of Maryland Hall of Famer Christy Winters-Scott as the television color analyst and play-by-play announcer Meghan McPeak. The Team 980 is Washington, D.C.’s first all-sports radio station, making it the perfect home for Mystics games.
“The Team 980 is where the DMV goes to talk basketball,” said Chris Kinard, Vice President of Sports Programming & Cluster Director of Operations, Audacy Washington, D.C. “We are excited to bring an audio presentation of Mystics games to their growing fanbase on The Team 980 AM and available on mobile and smart speakers through the Audacy app.”
The partnership comes after Monumental Sports Network saw its highest television viewership in six seasons for a regular season WNBA game during the season opener between the Mystics and New York Liberty on May 14. With the addition of a radio broadcast, even more fans will have the opportunity to follow the Mystics throughout the season.
Don’t miss the Mystics’ game tonight against the Chicago Sky at 7 PM ET on The Team 980. Tune in to support the team and experience the excitement of live WNBA action on the radio.
