The 2024 Xicheng Science and Technology Week kicked off with a bang on May 25, showcasing the theme of “Enhancing the Spirit of Scientists and Promoting the Vitality of Innovation for the Whole Society”. The week-long event aimed to highlight the achievements of scientific and technological innovation while providing the public with a hands-on experience of the benefits of science and technology.
Attendees were treated to a variety of activities throughout the week, including popular science exhibitions, new science projects, and interactive experiences with cutting-edge technology. Divided into four chapters, the event covered topics such as “Science and Technology Development”, “Innovation of Science and Technology”, “Galaxy of Science Fame”, and “Creating the Future”.
One of the standout attractions of the event was a mecha robot that captured the attention of all attendees with its advanced technology. Additionally, students who clinched the top prize at the Beijing Youth Science and Technology Competition showcased their winning projects, showcasing the scientific knowledge and innovation of Xicheng youth.
Experts and scientists also took the stage to share their insights during the event. Artificial intelligence scientist Bai Fengshuang emphasized the importance of innovation in social development and highlighted the practical applications of artificial intelligence in improving human life. Lin Wei, deputy chief designer at Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute, discussed the role of smart cities in revitalizing industries and the need for cross-border communication between different technologies.
Various businesses, including Guo Shoujing Memorial Hall, Digital China, and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, showcased their innovations in smart culture tourism, genetic data, smart robots, digital renminbi, and more. The event aimed to inspire the spirit of scientists, promote innovation, and encourage the public to embrace the power and beauty of science and technology.
Zeng Linfeng, a member of the Xicheng District Organizational Committee, highlighted the district’s rich scientific and technological resources and strong spirit of innovation. The 2024 Xicheng Science and Technology Week was jointly hosted by the Management Committee of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Xicheng Park, the Propaganda Department of the Beijing Xicheng District Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Beijing Xicheng Organization of Regional Science and Technology. The event brought together scientists, government officials, technology companies, and representatives of youth and residents.
