Ohio Lineman Owen Bacon Balances High School, College, and Football Success
Greenford, Ohio – Owen Bacon, a recent graduate of Crestview High School and Kent State University, is gearing up for his next academic and athletic challenge at Geneva College. Bacon, who will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science while playing football for the Golden Tornadoes, has already achieved a remarkable feat by obtaining both a high school diploma and an associate’s degree in cyber security at the age of 18.
Bacon’s journey to this point has been a testament to his dedication and time management skills. Starting as a freshman, he took advantage of Kent State’s College Credit Plus program, allowing him to earn college credits while still in high school. Balancing a rigorous academic schedule with football practice, Bacon found a way to excel in both areas.
“Football has always been an outlet for me,” Bacon said. “After a day of working on all of that stuff you get stressed out and you just go and play football. It’s great.”
His success can be attributed to his disciplined approach to time management and his ability to stay organized. Bacon emphasized the importance of creating a schedule and sticking to it, as well as staying diverse in his activities to complement his overall growth.
Looking ahead to his college football career at Geneva, Bacon is aware of the challenges that lie ahead but is eager to take them on. With a summer training program already underway, Bacon is ready to put in the work and continue his success on and off the field.
As he prepares to embark on this new chapter, Bacon’s story serves as an inspiration to other young athletes looking to balance academics, athletics, and personal growth. With his determination and work ethic, there’s no doubt that Bacon will continue to excel in whatever challenges come his way.
