Colorado Springs climbs to the third spot in Best Places to Live ranking | Business

Colorado Springs has been named the No. 3 Best Place to Live in the U.S. for 2024-25 by U.S. News & World Report, climbing six spots from its previous ranking. The city’s desirability as a place to live played a significant role in earning this top spot, with Mayor Yemi Mobolade expressing pride in the recognition.

U.S. News compiles its rankings using data from various sources, including the Census Bureau, FBI, and surveys of thousands of people to determine the most important factors when choosing a place to live. This year, the focus was on city-specific data to provide a more detailed look at the livability and overall experience of specific municipalities.

Colorado Springs excelled in the desirability index, with factors such as net migration patterns, climate appeal, and the number of restaurants and bars per capita contributing to its high ranking. In a survey of 3,500 people, the city was rated as the top choice for living, further solidifying its position in the rankings.

While the city ranked No. 35 in housing affordability, it was noted that Colorado Springs carefully balances desirability and value, making it an attractive place to live. Economic factors, such as rising median wages and job growth, have also contributed to the city’s appeal.

Quality of life additions, such as new entertainment options and a strong sense of community pride, have made Colorado Springs particularly appealing to young adults. The city’s small-town atmosphere with big-city amenities has been highlighted as a key factor in its success.

Overall, Colorado Springs’ recognition as the No. 3 Best Place to Live in the U.S. reflects its strong economy, quality of life, and desirability as a city. Other Colorado cities, including Boulder and Denver, also made the list, showcasing the state’s appeal as a desirable place to live.
