The pair also comforted a crying Kimberley Walsh, as the group shared a heartbreaking tribute to Sarah Harding.

Their intimate O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire gig went down a storm with the 2000 crowd, and as they said their goodbyes there was only love in the room.

The girls played through a series of hits including Love Machine, Sound of the Underground, The Promise and Biology.

Rita Ora, husband Taika Waititi, Ashley Roberts, Rylan Clark and Graham Norton danced in the balcony at the gig- held exclusively for lucky O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers who had won tickets.

The girls came back together this year after having a long break from performing, and were more confident than ever.

They are now planning a new documentary with ITV after cameras followed them on tour.

SOMETHING NEW

Cameras captured scenes backstage and some of the private moments when they remembered bandmate Sarah.

A source said: “There’s a number of options on the table as to how ITV could deliver the final piece.

“Backstage footage has been captured but bosses feel there’s equal value in presenting the show in its entirety as one glossy set piece, just like Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

“To be able to celebrate this chapter feels like an honour and everyone is committed to doing it justice.

“Honouring their legacy and remembering Sarah is so important. However the finished product ends up, it will be a gorgeous piece of TV.”

After the success of the tour there are also rumours the girls would be a good fit for Glastonbury festival next year.

It comes as they revealed Sarah’s breast cancer diagnosis brought them back together before she tragically passed away in 2021 .

Kimberley told OK! Magazine: “It’s made us be in contact more regularly than we would normally.

“As much as this is a tough time for us, it’s nice that it’s given us the drive to spend time together.”

But it’s no secret that after the girls split for a second time in 2013, Cheryl, Kimberley and Nicola Roberts remained close while Nadine and Sarah went their separate ways from the group.

Nadine also took to social media to insist the other girls made the decision to split up while she had wanted to continue.

She wrote: “You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn’t stop them. I had the best time and want to keep going.”

But Cheryl quickly slammed her claims, saying Nadine was “full of s***” and had asked for a break in 2009 which led to the band’s demise.

She added: “She was the one who wanted to make a solo record. Which is why we took the hiatus. She wants to come out and say we broke the band up? No! She shouldn’t tell porkie pies.”
