The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that it is inviting applications for the DST-Nano Mission Postdoctoral fellowship in Nano Science and Technology. This prestigious fellowship is aimed at candidates interested in pursuing research in frontier areas of Nano Science & Technology.
According to the UGC notification, the fellowship carries a consolidated monthly stipend of Rs 60,000 per month plus applicable HRA, along with a research contingency grant of Rs 2,00,000 per annum. The fellowship is tenable for a maximum period of two years, with the possibility of extension to a third year in exceptional cases.
Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis but are yet to be awarded the degree will also be considered for the fellowship, with a stipend of Rs 45,000 per month plus applicable HRA until the degree is awarded.
Selection for the fellowship will be based on the recommendations of a Selection Committee, taking into account the candidate’s academic and research record, the merit of the proposed research in the area of nano science, and the facilities available in the host institution for the research.
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Science or Engineering, or have submitted their PhD thesis with research interests in Nano Science and Technology. They should be below 40 years of age and demonstrate the potential to become future leaders in Indian science.
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications along with bio-data, a list of publications, copies of certificates, a synopsis of their PhD thesis, and a short write-up on the proposed research. There is no last date for submission of applications, and selections will be made on a periodic basis.
